5 Minutes of Joy: Helicopter

On Mondays, I take five minutes to write the things that I am thankful for.  I say 5 minutes, but maybe that’s just an ideal.  (It’s easily can add a few hours to fix all of my typos and round-up pictures!)  I make an effort to do this daily, but on Mondays I share! This project has been a HUGE blessing to me! I’m not sure that there’s a better way to start the week!  So without further ado, these are gifts that bring me joy:

This summer that I feel pressing in on me… – that I GET to have a summer with my kids.  (Thinking of the parents that know their children’s days are limited, brain cancer, kidney disease…How easily I forget that tomorrow doesn’t come, sometimes.)

Every day is a GIFT.

Sleepy little faces.

Sheet wrinkles on their skin.

Hubs building a helicopter for B

B’s whole body exuding joy…fingers reaching, arms swinging…just to touch propellers for a split second.

M delighting in helping…that I finally have a kid that can buckle herself in!

M (4 years old) crying…can’t shift gears…praying and crying with her. – That God’s grace is big enough for both of us!

Words that heal

Words that lift up

Precious friendship

That HE is greater than pain…that he uses pain

The luxury of blow-dried hair

Stick on earrings

Family trip to Target

Tendrils of cantaloupe…climbing, reaching…

A DATE

Time to spend on US

Beautiful Weeds

Time alone in the sun! (It’s been years…why am I so bad at giving myself a break?  Finally doing better!)

What are you thankful for today?

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever. -1 Chronicles 16:34

  1. Visiting from Multitudes on Monday – appreciated reading of your grateful heart, even in the midst of pain. (I read your page on the story of your son’s birth.) May God surround you with His love and His care – and give you a wonderful summer with your children, giving you joy and strength as you mother.
